Sumi Offering Click & Collect Until Lockdown Lifts

29 December 2020

A brand new revamped offering from Endo Kazutoshi; brings sushi boxes to your doorstep, whilst Lockdown continues.  The trendy White City restaurant, has got a revived version of it’s bijou eaterie on the cards for when Lockdown is eased, and has revamped it’s interiors with a minimalist look, with clean lines.  Sumi is named after Kazutoshi’s mother; and Yasudo Akinori – previously of Zuma, is the Head Chef responsible for overseeing the menu.

It’s urban refit includes decked wood panelling and traditional white tiling, set against accents of rattan.  The brainchild of Endo Kazutoshi; this less formal but not less refined follow up from Rotunda restuarant, is at the forefront of this year’s long awaited for launches.  Pending Tier 4 regulations to be lifted, this sushi bar – brasserie, doubles up as a refined delivery option.   Instead of opening it’s doors in January, as was anticipated, it will offer click and collect only until in-dining resumes.

The focus behind this esteemed newer offering from Kazutoshi is a themed discovery journey based on Japanese traditions. All of the ready prepared to take home  ‘bijou’ boxes have been specifically themed according to a specific tradition.  There is a choice of 4 themed boxes available, which provide a seasonal changing menu according to the freshest produce available.

The themed ‘signature’ box includes sashimi and sushi, alongside robata grilled salmon, Akami tuna, Toro tuna, Japanese Hamachi yellowtail, Scottish scallops, sea bream and unagi eel.  The daily changing ‘Omakese’ box features a choice of fresh and cured fish; including unagi and ikura;whilst the sashimi box features a medley of  three types of tuna, yellowtail, scallops, seabass and salmon;served with a choice of wasabi, seaweed, caviar or rice.

There is a vegan purely plant-based option; that has a choice of deep fried Agedashi tofu, vegetable roll, seasonal mushroom rice, grilled vegetables and Kompu garden salad.
